Over the past three years, the Environment Agency have been reinstating the lagoons at Northern Sea Wall on the North Kent coast. There are now two saline lagoons present, Coldharbour Lagoon and Plum Pudding Lagoon. In October 2015, a recycling scheme began which involved extracting approximately 66,000m³ of shingle from Plum Pudding Lagoon to raise the beach levels throughout the unit and create a new saline habitat.
